ITV Ice Makers, together with the companies Frost-Trol and ABR Ingenieros, presents the Green Cold 5.23 project, a strategic project for the ecological and digital transition of the cold chain sector. This initiative has been presented to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism’s Programme for the Promotion of Industrial Competitiveness and Sustainability Projects.

The aim of Green Cold is to develop projects focused on innovation and digitalisation of the sector, within a green strategic framework that is committed to sustainable growth and the circular economy.

The project, along with other initiatives, has been selected by the Generalitat to be presented to the Ministry of Industry, aspiring to be one of those selected to receive funding from the funds that the European Union has made available to recover from the economic effects of the pandemic.

As the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, has stressed, these are projects “designed to adapt our industry to the 2030 horizon of digitisation and sustainability”, seeking to radically transform traditional manufacturing activities and make a leap in competitiveness.

Green Cold is an initiative that aims to achieve a triple objective until 2023:

1-Boost the modernisation and productivity of the Spanish cold industry ecosystem, through the digitalisation of the value chain, boosting the sector’s productivity and competitiveness.
2-Implement structural transformations and reforms towards a climate-neutral, sustainable, circular economy and society that respects the limits imposed by the natural environment and is efficient in the use of resources.
3-Promote an inclusive recovery with a structuring character in the territory.

ITV Ice Makers is committed to adapting the cold industry to the new changes demanded by the new reality in all its aspects: productive, technological, environmental, social and territorial. Green Cold is presented as a step towards developing new products and/or services with better, more efficient and environmentally friendly features that maximise the value of the industry and adapt to the reality of the sector.
