Carbon Footprint Reduction by 2023: A Step Towards Sustainability

September, 2024

Good morning

At ITV Ice Makers, our dedication to sustainability and care for the environment is a constant priority. On this occasion, we would like to share with you all the progress and objectives we have achieved in our project to reduce our carbon footprint by 2023.

Positioning in the face of climate change

Climate change represents one of the greatest challenges of our time, and at ITV Ice Makers we are fully aware of our corporate responsibility to address this global threat. Therefore, within our Integrated Quality and Environmental System, we have implemented a series of initiatives aimed at controlling, reducing and offsetting our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Specific strategies and actions

  • Renewable energy and energy efficiency: We have installed a solar plant that generated 665,006 kWh of clean energy in 2023, allowing our facilities to operate self-sufficiently and significantly reducing our emissions.
  • Process optimisation: Through the implementation of methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Ecodesign, we have achieved greater efficiency in the production of our ice machines, reducing energy consumption and waste generated.
  • Sustainable transport: We have reduced emissions from transport by using efficient vehicles and optimising logistics routes, resulting in a 10% reduction in CO2 emissions associated with transport compared to the previous year.

Results and reduction targets

Thanks to these initiatives, we have managed to reduce our total emissions to 33 tonnes of CO2e in 2023, compared to emissions in 2022. We are committed to further improving these results, aiming to maintain our emissions in relation to manufacturing hours and average annual headcount, and to start controlling Scope 3 emissions by 2025.

Commitment to the circular economy

At ITV Ice Makers, we are firmly committed to the circular economy. Our strategies include designing products with environmental criteria, optimising processes to reduce, recycle or reuse waste, and using alternative raw materials and renewable energy sources. All of this contributes to reducing our carbon footprint and encouraging more sustainable consumption.

Conclusion

Our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint are not only a commitment to the environment, but also a responsibility to our customers, employees and society at large. We will continue to work hard to meet our sustainability targets and will continue to report on our progress.

We thank you for your dedication and support in this important project.

Yours sincerely,

Cristina.
