If you have reached this article, it is because ice is an elementary product for your business and you serve it daily and in large quantities. That’s why you need the perfect machine for ice production. So I suppose you are familiar with pump ice machines. Didn’t you know about them? If so, today at ITV Ice Makers we talk to you about this type of machine and its features.

What are ice machines with discharge pumps?

Ice machines play a key role in the catering business. These manufacturers basically consist of a system available on some R290 gas ice machines that allows the installation of the ice machine away from the drain point and even using the drain point of the sink. This system is factory fitted and must be ordered with the appropriate code, which indicates DP.   For many food businesses, an ice machine of this type is the ideal choice. With unmounted ice machines you have two options with regard to the choice of drainage systems: a gravity drain or a built-in drainage pump. Ice makers have a constant requirement to remove water, especially during the ice cube take-off cycle.  However, in many situations they have a suitable drainage system. Therefore, the discharge pump is designed to remove excess water from ice machines installed in areas without direct access to drainage.
